What is involved with becoming a general certified commercial appraiser?
The Appraisal Qualifications Board is the authority.
Some of the basic requirements for General Certification include:
- 3,000 hours of qualifying experience
- within no fewer than 18 months
- 1,500 hours of non-residential work
- 300 hours qualifying education
- this is outlined in the Required Core Curriculum
- compared to 150 licensed resi & 200 certified resi
- there is crossover so you won’t be starting over
- Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited university
- Supervisory Appraiser
- AQB-approved Certified General Real Property Appraiser examination
